Introduction

The Laboratory for Atmospheric Research is housed within the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at WSU. The focus of the lab is on air quality and climate change with an emphasis on air quality modeling, field studies of air quality and greenhouse gas emissions, and studies of arctic atmospheric remote sensing.

Emissions Quantification and Measurement, Reporting, and Verification 40Dr Lamb has been involved in methane emission studies beginning in the 1990's with the GRI/EPA national study of the natural gas supply chain. This continued in 2013 with the EDF series of emission field programs. Emission factors used by EPA for the Greenhouse Gas Emission Inventory have been based on results from Lamb's emission measurements of underground pipeline leaks and metering and pressure regulating stations. Most recently Dr Lamb has worked with a local distribution company to report new methods and data for methane emissions from customer meters and below ground pipeline leaks.
