The national meeting was held within the framework of the project “Cooperation in solving the problem of reducing methane emissions in Kazakhstan,” sponsored and supported by the U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Kazakhstan. The executor of this project is the Public Foundation “Center Cooperation for Sustainable Development” in Kazakhstan.
The participants of the meeting were representatives of state and local executive authorities, international and non-governmental organizations, associations, industrial companies, specialized enterprises in the field of waste management, as well as academic sphere from universities, research institutes and mass media. Participants had an excellent opportunity to listen to industry experts and participate in a working group where they were able to independently consider the prioritization of the methane management or elimination aspect in different sectors of the economy.
