The Almaty Energy Forum provides a platform for inclusive, multi-stakeholder dialogue to facilitate regional cooperation, provide technical capacity support, and help countries in Central Asia innovate and modernize their regional infrastructure and build resilient energy systems that are secure, affordable, and deliver on net-zero targets. The forum includes numerous technical workshops and other sessions related to energy connectivity and transition.

At this event, GMI will host a workshop on methane management targeting decisionmakers in Central Asian countries. In addition, GMI is collaborating with UNDP on a panel that will explore how countries can set up favorable national frameworks for methane policies and use Article 6 of the Paris Agreement to support their efforts.
