Officially hosted by the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, this First International Environmental Conference in the region will focus on the rapidly increasing problem of industrial waste. Saudi Arabia and the surrounding areas have experienced rapid industrial growth and diversification in recent years. This has created fiscal solvency but also problems with hazardous and non hazardous waste, especially in the oil, gas and petrochemical sectors. The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu have identified a vital need for stricter regulations, legislation, and policing to be put in place.
