The Global Methane Initiative (GMI) Steering Committee convened for its 21st meeting on 18 March 2024. The 1-day in-person and virtual meeting took place at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. Delegates from the GMI Partner Countries serving on the Steering Committee participated as well as representatives of several strategic partner organizations.
The purpose of the meeting was to learn about technical resources, events, communications, and activities completed and in progress; hear from GMI Partner delegates about methane mitigation activities, priorities, and needs in their countries; explore ways to enhance collaboration across methane initiatives; hear countries’ updates from COP28 and begin planning for COP29; and discuss and shape agenda items for the next Steering Committee meeting.
