This workshop focused on identifying and quantifying oil and gas methane emissions and identifying cost-effective technologies and techniques used to reduce methane emissions from the Russian and Ukrainian oil and natural gas industry. Presentations included studies conducted in Russia and Ukraine in the natural gas production, processing and transmission sectors and most importantly, examined proven cost-effective technologies and techniques to reduce these emissions.
Attendees included members of the Russian and Ukrainian natural gas production, processing and transmission sectors.

This workshop was conducted with simultaneous Russian and English translation.

Proceedings:
• Agenda (PDF, 37 pp, 416 KB)
• Abstracts (PDF, 37 pp, 416 KB)
• Workshop participants (PDF, 37 pp, 416 KB)

Presentations:
• Development of a Best Management Practice in Canada for Controlling Fugitive Emissions at Upstream Oil and Gas Facilities (PDF, 15 pp, 59 KB)
• Methane in the Atmosphere Over Russia: TROICA experiments (PDF, 26 pp, 4.9 MB)
• GHG-Emissions of Russian Long Distance Gas Transport Pipelines and Options for Mitigation (PDF, 33 pp, 1.6 MB)
• Directed Inspection & Maintenance Programs for Reducing Methane Emissions (PDF, 9 pp, 64 KB)
• Cost Effective Opportunities to Reduce Methane Emissions and Losses (PDF, 19 pp, 78 KB)
• Fundamentals of Vapor Recovery (PDF, 109 pp, 9.1 MB)
• Evaluation of Methane Flux from Natural Gas Transportation System from Satellite (PDF, 21 pp, 2.5 MB)
• Assessment of Motivations for Saving Methane Emissions in International Oil and Gas Operations (PDF, 15 pp, 172 KB) | Russian (PDF, 15 pp, 458 KB)
• Reducing Methane Emissions Provides Operating Benefits for International Oil and Gas Companies: A Case Study (PDF, 14 pp, 177 KB) | Russian (PDF, 14 pp, 1140 KB)
• Projects that Achieve Large Methane Emissions Reductions in Oil and Gas Operations (PDF, 19 pp, 197 KB) | Russian (PDF, 19 pp, 419 KB)
• Methane Emissions Management at TransCanada (PDF, 37 pp, 2.3 MB)
• Detection of Methane Emission Through Water and Ground Surface (PDF, 18 pp, 3.4 MB)
• The Carbon Trading Market: Opportunities and Challenges (PDF, 20 pp, 279 KB)
• Influence of the Spectroscopic Information Accuracy in Tasks of the Methane Monitoring (PDF, 14 pp, 339 KB)

The following presentations are only available in Russian:
• A Detailed Study of Greenhouse Gas Emissions in the Oil and Gas Sector (PDF, 16 pp, 322 KB)
• Estimated and Actual Measurements of Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Energy Processes (PDF, 12 pp, 469 KB)
• Experiments in the Development of Projected Technical Documentation for the Completion of Dual Purpose Projects (PDF, 12 pp, 151 KB)
