This report, published by the Clean Air Task Force (CATF), provides the results of an empirical analysis of data collected on the costs and benefits of leak detection and repair (LDAR) programs at oil and natural gas facilities. The programs discussed in this report use infrared cameras to detect sources of methane and volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions.
