The Global Network for Environment and Economic Development Research is a leading partner for the "Cows to Kilowatts Partnership" (C2K). The C2K partnership is a recipient of the prestigious 2005 SEED International Environmental Awards. The award was received for its initiative in converting slaughterhouse waste into renewable energy (household cooking gas or biogas) in one of the largest slaughterhouses in Sub-Saharan Africa in the city of Ibadan, Nigeria with a population of over 3 million people (www.seedinit.org). |
