Training Workshop on "Potential Methane Emissions Reductions through Capture and Use of Methane at Domestic Wastewater Treatment Plants"

Event Details: This one-day training workshop aimed to increase awareness of the technical and economic aspects of projects that reduce methane emission from the collection and treatment of domestic wastewater. The training was tailored to Mexico's municipal wastewater sector, and focused on methane capture and use technologies that are applicable to Mexico. Presenters from Mexico and the United States reported on:
- Mexico's wastewater sector: Baseline methane emissions and reduction-potential scenarios;
- Current status of wastewater-fed anaerobic digestion Mexico;
- Technical guidance on the capture and use of methane; and
- Case studies and economic scenarios of existing WWTPs with methane capture.
