- Argentina Solid Waste (ARS) Association will identify a landfill; design, procure and construct a pilot-scale landfill methane recovery and use project to demonstrate the use of landfil biogas in fuel infrared heaters. ARS will then assess the technical and economic results of the project.

- By substituting landfill methane for a fossil-fuel the net greenhouse gas emissions that would have occurred from the landfill will be reduced as well as local air quality improvements will be achieved. When the heaters are not in use the landfill will combust the gas in a flare.
