Russia Oil and Gas Methane Emissions Reduction Workshop

Oil and Gas

14–16 September 2005

Location: Tomsk, Russia

Organizer: The Russian Academy of Sciences and the Methane to Markets Initiative

Event Details: This workshop focused on identifying and quantifying oil and gas methane emissions and identifying cost-effective technologies and techniques used to reduce methane emissions from the Russian and Ukrainian oil and natural gas industry. Presentations included studies conducted in Russia and Ukraine in the natural gas production, processing and transmission sectors and most importantly, examined proven cost-effective technologies and techniques to reduce these emissions.

Attendees included members of the Russian and Ukrainian natural gas production, processing and transmission sectors.

This workshop was conducted with simultaneous Russian and English translation.
